6. Solving Multi-Step Inequalities
Use the same steps as solving for equalities:
Simplify (distribute, combine like terms)
Group (group your variables to one side of the inequality)
Isolate (isolate your variable by grouping non-variables on the other side)
Remove (remove the coefficient in front of the variable. Remember to change the inequality if you are multiplying or dividing by a negative #)

8. Finding Solution Sets of Inequalities
When finding the solution set of inequalities:
Solve the inequality for the selected variable.
Determine which values from the replacement set belong to the solution set.

9. Example: Find the solution set for: 3x + 7 > 10
if the replacement set is { -5, 0, 1, 3, 6}
First solve for x.
Find values in the solution set which make the equation true.
