2
Module Aim To enable learners evaluate the efficiency and quality of various lighting schemes of their choice in industrial and commercial buildings and exteriors. Students will learn how to design and/or specify and/or evaluate low energy lighting schemes which maintain quality.
3
Description Lighting research, science and theory notes will be supplied electronically to enable students: design and/or specify low energy lighting schemes audit efficiency and quality of lighting Carry out a small piece of research
4
Learning Outcomes Learner will be able to:
evaluate & Compare lighting installations design Low Energy Interior Lighting schemes calculate Daylight levels for interiors integrate daylight into lighting design evaluate energy usage & assess quality aspects specify appropriate lighting controls specify low energy external lighting designs work as part of a team make PowerPoint presentations and write a paper of professional quality at a post-graduate research level.
5
Learning & Teaching Methods
E-learning covering lighting fundamentals and design practice Team working on group assignments Project Based Learning Learners will research for their own assignments on projects of interest to them.
