3
Establishment of RCARO
RCA Regional Office (RCARO) was declared open at the Nuclear Training Centre Building of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in Daejeon, Republic of Korea on 27th March 2002
4
Mandate of RCARO 1. To increase RCA visibility Increasing the RCA awareness 2. To promote RCA viability Promoting RCA partnership 3. Other Directives made by MSs

6
OBJECTIVE OF RCA SUCCESS STORIES
To deliver the message about what the RCA has to offer. To earn recognition as a regional resource community in Nuclear Science and Technology capable of providing high impact solutions to development problems in the region.
7
Background of the Assignment
RCARO has published two batches of Success Stories In first batch Five Success Stories were published in In second batch Four Success Stories were published in 2009
8
Proposed 4 drafts of success stories to be published in third batch
Current status Five success stories Four success stories Proposed 4 drafts of success stories to be published in third batch

My Proposed Contribution
To Propose plan for RCA Success Stories Publication The 9 Success Stories already published to be re-arranged in an attractive format To design the proposed third batch of four Success Stories in the new format

Third Batch of SSs The RCA FP proposed the following set for third batch of SSs: Energy Planning (RAS/0/045) Tracer Applications (RAS/8/107, RAS/8/099) Soil and Water Quality (RAS/5/043) Animal Production (RAS/5/044)
13
Procedure for 3rd Batch of SSs
The RCA FP proposed the following procedure for third batch of SSs: First draft by PLCC Circulation to the Members of the SAC for comments Revision by RCARO based on the comments and submission to the editor Submission of the edited version to an NRs Meeting for approval. Revision based on the comments of the NRs Final Review by PLCC and the editor
14
Evaluation of the Past SSs
A Questionnaire was issued in 2008 enquiring the following 4 Criteria: Design & Layout of SSs The Text Information The Attraction of the publication A useful resource to the organization
15
Results of the Evaluation
QUESTIONS Strongly agree (1) Agree (2) Neutral (3) Disagree (4) Strongly disagree(5) i 6 checks 30 checks 3 checks 1 check None ii 12 checks 22 checks 4 checks 2 checks iii 17 checks 18 checks 5 checks iv 11 checks Total Check Points 46 88 16 9 N/A
16
Results RCARO should request NRs to disseminate these stories to Potential Customers/Ultimate Partners through these stakeholders 35.29%of Total Stakeholders Only 6 MSs responded
17
Analysis of the Results
Results are not reliable as it is from a very small group of stakeholders (who are already a part of RCA) Not many response from end users Response ratio is very low, however the overall survey shows that the respondents gave a favorable view on the RCA Success Stories.
18
Delivery Methods of the SSs
Direct Distribution through NRs Arrangement of Meetings with Potential donors/partners Exhibition Booths Internet Arrangement of Seminars in Universities Takeaway Gift packs at International Conferences/seminars/symposia
19
Recommendations The evaluation carried out so far is contents focused. The Management of publication should be evaluated alongwith the contents of the publication. Rearrangement of past stories is recommended with some additional information as per the proposed plan
