2 Explorers and Military People
Look at the map below showing the voyages by Jacques Cartier. ­ Where did Cartier visit? ­ What do you know about these places? (who lived there what was their lifestyle?) ­ What do you know about scurvy? ­ If you had been an explorer, how could you have ensured good relations with the First Nations?

3 Explorers & Military Take a copy of the worksheet and start on the side with the graphic organizer. read through pages H6­-H9 dot­jot key information about each of the 4 sections (at least 3 per) Before the Newcomers Jacques Cartier Samuel de Champlain Soldiers When finished, turn the worksheet over to "The Voyages of Jacques Cartier." ­ follow the instructions to complete the map on the bottom of the worksheet Both of these activities will be taken up during our next History period, have them complete by then. /12 /9
