Outer: 41 (19 given to Steve Snow today)
Middle: 28 (6 to Valencia today)

Middles: 16 today (by hand from IHEP)

Washer gluing at CERN
More jigs, totals:
Outer: 7
Middle: 8
Inner: 8
Rate is twice jig number per day
Some problems with gluing at CERN (1 washer the wrong way round) and general QA (HV strip)
I will check all spines from now on before shipping. Please tell me of expected problems so I can watch for them

All TPG rolled before assembly into spines
Bow, if present, corrected for at IHEP once made into a spine
Bow further corrected for at CERN, if present
Geneva happy that flattened spines work
Manchester seen creases in flattened TPG
Roll TPG at module production sites if required rather than at CERN during washer gluing

Aim to increase spine production rates and understand production steps
3 organisations: NIIGraphite, NIITAP & IHEP
New contract with NIIGraphite to accelerate TPG production
2nd new contract with IHEP (inc. NIITAP)
Main problems at NIITAP.
Responsible for many stages
Low yield with TPG handling (80%)
Limited manpower and equipment – no redundancy

6. Towards faster production rate
I now have a phone meeting with IHEP, to be enlarged to include NIIGraphite and NIITAP.
IHEP now working double shifts to assembly spines as fast as possible
NIITAP have found a company to supply equipment required to speed up TPG polishing
5 TPG spines are being made with 20um thicker machined end sections
Should increase yield at NIITAP
Still no 2nd laser cutter at NIITAP – rate limiting problem
