Law of Inertia Ms. Ead Physics
2
What Is the first law of Motion?
4
An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion at the constant speed and in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force. Station 1 Object in motion Object at rest
5
Station 2 A Body at Rest
6
Station 3 A Body at Rest
7
Station 4 A Body in Motion
As the ball drops, its horizontal motion remains unchanged because there is no force in that direction.

Category (12 points) Excellent 4 Good 3 Needs Work 2 Unacceptable 1 or 0 Classroom performance -all time during lab is productive -works cooperatively with group -most time is productive and spent talking about the lab -only half of the time is productive -teacher has to redirect behaviors -demonstrates unproductive and off task behavior -uncooperative with group Cleanup / Care of Equipment -stations are left neat -equipment is handled with care -stations are generally clean, minor mess -equipment handled with care most of the time -stations are messy -teacher has to remind group to clean up or take care of lab equipment -trash is left behind -equipment is played with or treated as a toy Accuracy of Graded Work -all answers checked are correct -1 or 2 answers are incorrect -half of the answers are incorrect -more than half of the answers are incorrect

Directions for the Stations.
Start at the bucket nearest to you. Read the directions for the stations and fill in the observations as soon as you’re done. You will have 6 minutes to complete each station, and will be prompted to move clock wise when the timer goes off. Rubric for the activity is in the bucket. Goal is to get to all stations to have enough time for the analysis. Stay out of the center unless you are working on station 4.
