2. What will we take? 8th grade Language Arts – Honors or Academic
8th grade Civics– All Honors
8th grade Science – Honors or Academic

3. Math
If you are currently taking Math 7 – you will be signed up for Algebra 1 (HS Course)
If you are currently taking Algebra 1 – you will be signed up for Geometry (HS Course)
If you are planning on taking Summer School classes we will make those changes at the successful completion of Summer School

4. Everyone will take One block of PE 90 minutes of Resource
Spectrum students will have 45 min of Spectrum and 45 min of Resource

5. Electives (You get 2!) World Language
World Language- Level 1 or Level 2 (If you are in Level 1 you will already have your level loaded)
Spanish
French
German
Latin
(High School credit bearing class. Grades will go on your transcript and count towards your GPA)

6. Electives Music Band 8 (you must be taking band this year)
Strings 8 (you must be taking strings this year)
Chorus 8 (anyone may choose this)
Guitar 2 (Acoustic guitar)

Family Consumer Science 8
Art 8 (anyone may choose this)
Three Dimensional Design Art 8 (you must be taking Art 7)
Communications (cannot have taken it in 7th grade)

9. Selecting Courses in StudentVUE
All of your Core classes will already be entered based on Teacher Recommendations: English, Civics (All Honors), Science, Math and World Language (if you took a level 1) If you would like to make a level change to one of your Core classes your parents will need to contact Mrs. Kenworthy Health and PE will already be loaded for you. Your 90 minute Resource will be added over the summer.

10. Today you will be selecting
2 Electives!
All Electives will need to have an alternative course selected as well

11. Log onto StudentVue:
Go to the Course Requests tab on the left side of the screen
You will see that teacher requests and required electives are Locked
Click on “Search Courses”
Click on “request” button
Click on ”Click here to move request to course request list”
Click “remove” if you change your mind and want to take something out
You do not need to Save

12. What happens next?
You and your parents can log onto Student/Parent view to view the selections you have made today. You will be able to make changes to your electives up until February 22th online. After that date, your parents need to send Mrs. Kenworthy an to make any changes.
