1 The importance of Copyright laws and the effect of the data protection act on the work of the administrator The law that governs copyright in the UK is called the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. The copyright act is an act to protect authors and publishers work from being imitated or stolen.

2 How Copyright would effect an administrator
For example A school administrator (at any level) needs to know what materials created by students and faculty are protected so they are not copyrighted and there work is not stolen. It could affect your role as administrator because when producing work within a business, you must be careful not to infringe copyright law in reports and presentations.

3 Data protection act 1998-What is this
Data protection act 1998-What is this? What is this, when was it set up how would it effect an administrator The Data Protection Act 1998 protects people’s personal data from being seen by other unless they have permission by the individual, although the MI5 and MI6 have access to everyone’s data, for the purpose of protecting the country from terrorist attacks. The Data Protection Act 1998 effects the administrator because, if someone's personal data is released without consent this can be seen as an offense.
