Introduction Chinese government’s effort on preparing technology-proficient educators (Song, et al, 2005) Faculty receiving technology training Pre-service teachers required to take technology courses before graduation Required technology courses provided computer literacy Pre-service teachers reporting not well prepared for technology integration (Willis & Mehlinger, 2006; NCES, 2001) Technology courses were not integrated with students curriculum

Recommendations Developing a national standard on technology integration curriculum for teacher education programs Providing specific requirement about technology-related skills and techniques for teacher education programs Faculty professional development should cover content of technology integration More investment in technology in education
