Networking Platform & Survey
The Project Pillars Objectives Regional Data Hub Interviews Pilots Networking Platform & Survey Promote the uptake of EO services and data in response to regional needs Support the effective integration of existing Earth Observation Capacities in the region Facilitate the engagement of the complete ecosystem of EO stake holders in the region Enhance the participation in and contribution to the implementation of GEOSS and Copernicus in North Africa, Middle East and the Balkans Participants & Thematic Areas 25 partners from 3 continents 4 Thematic Areas Adaptation to Climate Change Improved Food Security & Water Extremes Managements Better Access to Raw Materials Better Access to Energy GEO-CRADLE program has set 4 objectives and to serve/support/address them aims at the consolidation of any data, facilities, networks, stakeholders, information that refer to Earth Observations for the regions of BAMENA. To succeed this goal GEOCRADLE is currently developing a Datahub, a database and 4 pilots one for each thematic area of the program. We will talk later about the stakeholders database. First I would like to focus on the datahub. The geocradle regional dathub aspires to be a regional GEOSS Portal for the RoI.

The Regional Datahub DATA DATA PROVIDERS or GCRD Portals in total:
Regions of Interest Balkans Middle East North Africa GEOSS Portal datasets GEO-CRADLE Thematic Areas Climate Change Food Security & Water Extremes Raw Materials Energy GEO-CRADLE Survey 10 national portals and sites Portals in total: 42 national 54 national & international Desk Research EO Data Categories Space borne Ground based Modelling Data exploitation 32 national portals and sites 12 continental and global portals and sites So, the data will be tagged according location, thematic areas and type. Now, the data providers have been tracked (down) from the geocradle survey , a survey that is a prerequisite in order to join the stakeholders network/database and is and will be available for at least one more year to any stakeholder that is interested in Geoss and geocradle including you. You collected 10 national portals from the surveys, 32 portals from desk research, 42 portals in total. Of course for a regional datahub the key source of data is the Geoss portal. The datasets that refer to the roil are more than 25 millions.

Brokering new portals Step Developing a Regional GEOSS Portal:
4. Future plans: The Networking Platform will attract more data providers. 3. Less compatible Portals: Can join GCRD! 2. Prioritised Portals: Compatible to GCI. In progress. 1. GEOSS Portal: All datasets referring to the RoI are brokered. Done. Step Developing a Regional GEOSS Portal: datasets to be brokered from GEOSS Portal, only the ones referred to the RoI of GEO-CRADLE. GEO-CRADLE

Brokering new portals 2. Step According to GCI team:
4. Future plans: The Networking Platform will attract more data providers. 3. Less compatible Portals: Can join GCRD! 2. Prioritised Portals: Compatible to GCI. In progress. 1. GEOSS Portal: All datasets referring to the RoI are brokered. Done. 2. Step According to GCI team: a Top-14 (out of 42) national portals is more compatible to GCI standards and offer free and open data. GEO-CRADLE Six out of 14 portals are positive to join GCRD. The List of Top-14.

Step The rest (national and international) portals & sites have: less compatible infrastructure or/and 2. restricted policies on data sharing Will be: tagged with keywords and returned as links. User can search/access data manually & according the policy of each portal. GEO-CRADLE
