BA Journalism If I am going to read between the lines it usually means that a student has a hidden gem in amongst the personal statements. Why hide it? If an applicant wants to be a journalist – tell us right up the top and tell us why…

BA Journalism The personal statement is the students’ chance to stand out: To speak of why they want to study a journalism degree. To illustrate their long interest in journalism. To speak of the journalist/s they admire and why. To demonstrate what type of journalist they want to be. How they feel journalism has moved on and how they get their news – Facebook, BBC, Twitter, C4… Their personality should shine through.

BA Journalism Students should look at what we offer and match:
their experience (however basic) their goals, their reasons to want to study journalism to that. The personal statement effectively tells us why they think our course is right for them: e/2016/4594/33003#course

BA Journalism We interview and the personal statement is about getting to the interview stage so the personality coming through the written form is crucial.
