Writing:
Focus will be on good paragraph structure, general essay format, thesis statements and effective research writing using MLA format.

Using independent reading strategies, short stories, poetry, drama, and novels will be read and analyzed.

Speech:
Students are expected to respond aloud in class, and everyone will have opportunities to present to the class collaboratively and individually.

6. Objectives Grammar, Usage, and Vocabulary:
Vocabulary units will come from readings. Grammar and usage issues will be addressed when editing writing.

8. Making The Grade
Grading in this class is very simple: the number of points gained divided by the number of points possible.
