Digital Humanities (DH), which began as a term of consensus among a relatively small group of researchers, is now supported on a growing number of campuses by a level of funding, infrastructure, and administrative commitments that would have been unthinkable even a decade ago. Institute’s Goals 1997, a Digital Research Library (DRL) was established – “digitize and deliver electronic versions of ULS print resources to a large body of users worldwide.” “digitize materials from our unique or endangered collections and provide innovative tools to enhance their availability, access, and continued use.” “increase the University’s global impact by ensuring that the output of Pitt researchers was made visible to a global readership, by supporting Pitt’s international research and learning programs, and by fostering worldwide sharing of knowledge.” – “To improve the accessibility of our unique digital collections and provide researchers with a greater opportunity to discover and interact with our holdings, we plan to prioritize the completion of a new, more modern digital library infrastructure in order to more efficiently manage and make accessible digital archival material.” 30 March 2016
