Background Information about the Project
The IDEA project seeks to advance a national revision of the knowledge triangle (education-research-innovation) involving both industry and academy and closely linking the worlds of design, engineering and business to inspire new competencies, methodologies and innovation. Specific objectives: 1. To modernize the multi-disciplinary culture at the organizational level through new synergies among the disciplines of engineering, design and business involving industry. 2. To create tools and methods to establish a common framework and language between educators and students from different disciplines and to equip them with the skills and attributes needed to work in interdisciplinary environments. 3. Description of the Project Deliverables
Tangible: Two new courses were developed based on IDEA content: 1. Building a Bio- Medical Startup (3 accreditation points). 2. Building an ICT Startup (3 accreditation points). A training workshop was conducted to the lecturers about methods of contents development and instruction in English. An editing staff was established. Description of the Project Products
Intangible: The hubs and the new academic programs expose students to global societal and economic challenges and prepare them for real life work realms. Increasing awareness regard the need for synergy between academy and industry. Students mobility to Valencia Spain (10 students) as part of "Business Technology and Innovation“ course. Staff mobility (2 lecturers)- lecturers from Catalonia University, Valencia Spain, came to Sapir in order to guide and teach the students who participated in the mobility for one week. Staff mobility- Staff from SAP visited at UPV for workshop on entrepreneurship & innovation education. 6. Initiating collaboration/cooperation with Industry & Universities abroad: 1. CHAPTER D. KADMA Winery : Traditional Business and the Local Market By Sara Greenberg and Raul Poler Academy and Industry This chapter presents a business and innovation workshop Expression of Wine jointly administered by Sapir College and Universitat Politècnica de València, structured as a course of seven meetings in the bachelor degree course in the technological marketing department at Sapir. Collaboration between the students of the technological marketing department in Sapir College and KADMA Winery was established. The students helped the small business with innovative solutions for its challenges while learning new methodologies for innovative thinking and problem solving consisted of the following main points: Innovation methodologies, including materials from multidisciplinary academic courses. Relevant topics were to provide consideration of problems from technology, business and marketing. The hub and the new academic courses exposed our students to global societal and economic challenges and prepare them for real life work realms Students Sapir lecturer were connected to new international networks in their research areas Staff Sapir management opened an Innovation Center in collaboration with Cisco company in Sderot (south area). In the Innovation Center students from SAP will gain support, guidance, knowledge and experience to initiate their new ideas/startups. Management As a result of the awareness created during the project and the links established with the Israeli Policy leaders, the Ministry of Economy (MOE) has joined as associated partner the new Erasmus+ "CLEVER" project coordinated by SHENKAR, which aims at promoting the Creative Industries in Israel. Challenges Faced and their Effects

Lesson Learned and Conclusions
Developing research programs with UPV. Teachers training workshops are needed to attain high level of quality and appropriateness for English as Medium of Instruction course.
