From Anxiety to Anticipation
( Romans 8:18-21) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willing, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
3
Anxiety- a feeling of worry, grief, nervousness or unease; typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Four Levels of Anxiety : (Dr.Peplau) 1. Mild 2. Moderate 3. Severe 4. Panic
4
Philippians 4 : 6-7 Be ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the PEACE of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
5
Anticipation – is an emotion involving pleasure and excitement in considering an expected event.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you, will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ

Three Biblical Examples of going from: Anxiety to Anticipation
1. A Look at Moses and Joshua ANXIETY * Deut. 31: 2 Moses; I am no longer able to lead you * Deut. 34: 8 Israel grieved for Moses, 30 days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.
7
ANTICIPATION Deut. 31: 3- The Lord will go ahead & help Joshua cross over into the land of promise… Deut. 31:7; 34: 9- Moses lays his hands on Joshua in front of all Israel and reassures the people that God will bring them into the land of Promise. Do not be afraid or discouraged! He will never forsake them.

2. Paul with the Elders of Ephesus
ANXIETY * 1Cor. 2:3- Paul admits to being weak, afraid and is trembling when he comes. * Acts 20: 25, 37,38; 21:1,12-14 – the Elders grieved and wept, they would never see Paul again. They pleaded w/ him NOT to go.
9
ANTICIPATION Acts 20:24- I consider my life worth nothing, only that I finish the race and complete my task of sharing the gospel. In spite of warnings not to go, he went! Jerusalem- he was arrested by the Jews Caesarea- tried by the Roman Gov. Felix, trial before Fetus, then King Agrippa Rome- shipwreck on Malta, preaches and writes in prison… to the WORLD!

3. Jesus with His Disciples
ANXIETY * John13:33,36- Jesus, I am leaving; Peter, where are you going? Jesus, You can not come. Peter, Why? I will lay my life down for you * Jn.14:1- Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God, believe Me!
11
ANTICIPATION John 14: Jesus assures His disciples He is going to prepare a place for them in His Father’s house. He will come back for them. John 14:12-18 – Jesus said, “I will not leave you orphans. I will send a Helper to dwell in you. And greater works will you do!” John 16:22 – “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you!”

Are you dealing with ANXIETY
Are you dealing with ANXIETY?Depressed, confused, loss of job or someone close, financial pressures, uncertain of the future? 1Peter 5:7- Cast ALL your ANXIET Y on Him FOR HE CARES FOR YOU.
