He was greatly influenced by D. J. T. Barclay. 1869-Graduates with a teaching degree Moves to Hopkinsville, KY, starts a school with his college roommate, Charles Knight. 1871-marries 19 year old Carrie Knight—3 children born-2 died in infancy. 1876-Carrie Knight Harding dies of TB

4 1876 to 1891 1878-Marries Pattie Cobb of Estil County, KY
1879-Daughter Woodson born-she would marry J N Armstrong in 1898 1882-Begins writing for the Gospel Advocate. Evangelistic Preaching from Canada-Florida New York to New Mexico Over 300 meetings– Read F. D. Srygley’s assessment of Harding as an evangelist Read West on Harding’s view on providence

5 Educational Endeavors
1891- He and David Lipscomb start Nashville Bible School Serves as President for 10 years. 1899-Starts his own paper- The Way. 1898-His daughter, Woodson marries J. N. Armstrong 1901—Announces that he is leaving to start a school in Bowling Green. –Armstrong goes with him-read Lipscomb’s announcement in the GA 1903- The Way is merged with the Christian Leader to become The Christian Leader and the Way

6 1905-Potter Bible College suffers blow when Armstrong and 2 other teachers leave to start a school in Odessa, MO 1909- Harding speaks at Thanksgiving Lectures at Cordell, OK 1912- Becomes one of the editors of The Gospel Herald-J. N Armstrong’s paper 1912-gives up presidency at Potter. 1912- Begins having memory problems 1912-Potter Bible College closes

7 Pattie Cobb Harding dies in 1945
1914- Harding and wife move to Atlanta-live with daughter, Sue and husband, Dr. Paine. – they spend winter at Cordell Christian College with daughter Woodson. 1919-Harding’s father, J W Harding dies in Winchester at age 94 1922- Harding dies in Atlanta-burial in Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, KY This taken around 1900 Pattie Cobb Harding dies in 1945
