1
Hide and Seek "Where are you?" Genesis 3:8-9
2
Adam knows he's hiding, but does he know he's lost?
3
A cycle of death is already at work in the garden Genesis 2:17
4
1. Vision Opening our eyes to new possibilities
5
God reveals to us that we can be more than we are.
Revelation gives a vision of a preferred future. We don’t have to die. Proverbs 29:18
6
Adam must hear another word from God. Genesis 1:28
“In the sweat of your face you shall eat.” Genesis 3:19 Adam must prophecy his new future. Genesis 3:20 Adam’s future was a new relationship with Eve.
7
2. Passion The fuel necesary to ignite the fire needed to over- come problems
8
The passion of his new embrace made Adam forget what he'd lost
9
Adam had to transition from being a gardener to becoming a lover
10
Without passion, the fire of revelation is quickly extinguished.
God had to force Adam out of his comfort zone. God refused to allow him to continue on a route that ended in death.
11
We all struggle with giving up our gardens Genesis 3:24
12
3. Courage The strength to act on the inspired revelation
13
Adam had to transition from being a lover to becoming a father
14
We truly believe when we’re willing to sign on the dotted line.
We’re willing to make the necessary sacrifices to see the vision fulfilled. “Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain.” Genesis 4:1
15
I have acquired a man from the Lord
16
4. Routine Where the light of revelation slowly begins going out
17
“Then she bore again.” Genesis 4:2 What’s missing with her new baby?
There’s no new revelation. Adam and Eve have been reduced to automation. They’re going through the motions with no new insight.
18
Adam forgot where he was
19
He's still rolling but like
a tire with a slow leak he's losing pressure
20
You can hear it in Eve's voice when she names her second baby, "Vanity"
21
5. Death Where truth becomes locked in time
22
The cycle of death which Adam had loosed in the garden was working in his family.
“Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.” Genesis 4:8
23
What was once full of promise has become a cold corpse
24
Don’t allow your past pain to become a prison.
What Adam needed was a new revelation. “And Adam knew his wife again.” Genesis 4:25 Allow God to “appoint” you a new future.
25
"And as for Seth, to him also a son was born" Genesis 4:26
26
If you think children are great Just wait ‘til you see the grandkids
27
"Be fruitful..." "and multiply"
28
Unlock and open the door with new revelation
