MyApps is comfortable. Users have been interacting with this page for a long time: - MyApps was created in 2002 and went live in We currently have limited support for MyApps as the developers are no longer with the organization. MyApps was a web page created to meet our hospital’s needs at the time it was created and is dated technology. MyApps is limited to Windows machines running Internet Explorer8; no Chrome, no Firefox, and no Apple based web browsers will interact with MyApps. MyApps is limited to running within the Hospital network and we must maintain virtual machines for users that need access to the system outside of the Hospital network; an added expense.

- iPortal allows access on any system that has Citrix installed on it. - iPortal provides users access to the system outside of the hospital network. - iPortal also is a website though and required an additional log on for authentication. - There has been feedback since the inception of iPortal regarding additional log ons as well as performance concerns. We took that feedback into consideration when making the decision to move from iPortal to Citrix Receiver for our end state for this project.

- Citrix Receiver is an enterprise system created and maintained by Citrix. Support will not be an issue. - Upgrades will be faster, downtimes will be reduced, and performance should be improved by supporting 4 servers rather than 6,000 individual devices. - Citrix Receiver is compatible with multiple devices, i.e. MiniPC, Chromebook, iPad, iPhone, as well as Android systems. - Our Bring Your Own Device policy is possible with Citrix Receiver; it is not with MyApps.

- Citrix Receiver is portable and provides the ability for future functionality: - We want to provide functionality such as badge access and single sign on down the road. - Citrix Receiver is the first step to enabling this functionality. - Long term, replacing workstations will be much less expensive as Citrix Receiver can run on much less powerful workstations and operate at optimal performance levels.
