20 Why participate in a competition ?!
Participating in a competition is to learn to accept that you can fall into one of two categories: those who lose and those who gain. For a child, this lesson can be easier or harder depending on how he is living this experience.

21 Benefits from participation in competitions
Capitalization of interest in a particular field. learning new things or new skills Testing the knowledge acquired. Learn to cope with failure. A poor result in a competition or missing a podium place may be opportunities to learn to cope with failure.

22 Benefits from participation in competitions
Increased self-esteem. When participating in a competition ends with a good result, the child learns to believe in himself and discovers that exceeded limits. All this helps to increase self-esteem. school competitions stimulate the spirit of initiative, social skills and communication, imagination and gives them a new opportunity to assimilate new knowledge. Certainly among others will influence educational outcomes and will decrease the effort of time dedicating it won deepening preferred domain.

23 Disadvantages participation in competitions
Competitions are a source of stress. When the child really wants a prize or believes that the results are extremely important, stress is inevitable To counteract the effect of participation in competitions, it is best to train up our children to watch a competition as a situation where you have the opportunity to test their limits, to learn new things and improve certain skills. An award obtained in a school competition must not become an end in itself. Status of physical and mental exhaustion

24 Disadvantages participation in competitions
The child has less leisure. The time for relaxation will be lower due to the need to prepare for the competition. Social relationships can suffer. Children who are preparing for the Olympics or school competitions spend less time going out, preferring to spend time learning and practicing Unfortunately not all children have the opportunity to participate in these contests in particular the lack of information.
