4. MANAGEMENT & MENTORS PLAYER RELATED
Club managers should facilitate players in regularly rotating positions (particularly from Under 8 to Under 14). The players should experience playing in multiple positions.
At under 8, under 10, under 12, under 14 level, when possible managers to all players (that regularly attend training sessions) a minimum of 20 minutes per game.
Club managers from under 8 to under 14 should promote using players of the correct age bracket over those players eligible for a younger age bracket (This is a policy that requires common sense approach to the players who have had good attendance at training sessions, previous games etc.)
Players should be instructed by club management to play and train with their own age group in the event of overlapping games or training sessions.
Encourage and guide players to accept and take responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.

5. MANAGEMENT & MENTORS GENERAL
Manager & mentors make considerable efforts to integrate any new players or parents that are new to the club.
That as many club management & mentors as possible have completed a GAA coaching course. (i.e.) foundation level course or level 1
That all club management & mentors are Garda vetted.
That club management/mentors offer possible assistance to other underage management & mentors in the training of teams when necessary.
Incorporate appropriate anti bullying and mental health awareness when dealing with under 18’s.
To utilise the correct lines of communications when dealing with under 18’s (example – It is not seen as appropriate to be texting under 18’s about games, training sessions etc.)

Any team that has female players requires a female manager or mentor to be present at all team trainings, games etc.
Have at least 3 officials per club team, one team manager, two fellow mentors.

12. Managers of all underage teams, parents and players to attend a registration evening at start of the year. This evening will include setting the date & time training and games begins etc. Managers would help encourage all involved players, parents to attend and to sign up to club brand and club code of good practice.
13. As much as possible, all underage management team wear the club colours (black socks, training top, polo shirt etc.) when representing club on game day.
14. Place the safety and well being of children above all other considerations.
15. Must develop an appropriate relationship with players based on mutual respect and trust.

9. PLAYERS
GENERAL
Players to apply high standards of discipline & respect to all involved in the running of our training sessions and games.  This should apply to all fellow players, managers, officials, parents, opposition, property at home and away venues etc.
Players to be on time for club events, trainings and games.

Any parent or player that has a team related issue that is in need of resolution should follow the steps below.
Contact the club manager after a match or training session at a suitable time to discuss relevant issues.
Contact club coaching officer in the event of the above step not being a viable route to a solution.
Contact club chairman in the event of the above steps not being a viable route to a solution.

14. PARENTS POSSIBLE CLUB DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Help to organise underage club registration evening and end of season social event for underage teams
Uploading club photographs of teams, actions shots
Fundraising initiatives- e.g. Bag Packing, Car wash, Sponsored walk
Refreshments laid on for travelling teams (long distances) at under 8 and under 10 level etc. Soup, sandwiches, biscuits, a soft drink etc Note: this would occur once or twice a year at most
Rota of parents that are necessary to drive team members to away matches and that are available on game day, as umpires, linesmen or women etc
Parents to be available to receive a call or text from club official on availability for rota listed above. A REPLY from all parents is required as clarification of those available to drive to matches.

15. PARENTS Contact Number/Player Injury
In the event of a parent being unable to attend a match, they should be contactable by a club official in the event of emergency situation or a child being injured.
In the event of player being injured during training a parent should be contactable by a club official. This contact number should be given to club management at registration evening.
In the event of a injury to a CLG Tuar Mhic Eadaigh underage club player, parents are to inform the team manager of the nature of the injury as soon as possible (preferably within 24 hours). This should ensure that the correct procedures are followed in dealing with an injury claim in a timely manner.

16. SUMMARY
For CLG Tuar Mhic Eadaigh to move forward and to implement this new initiative for 2015 it needs strong support.
It is expected that all team management, players and parents will SIGN UP to the club code of best practice.
This is to occur at the underage registration evening in early 2015.
