1 Grace, Meredith, Ashley, Cheryl, Rebecca,
Dear Parents, It’s that time of year again! The holiday season is upon us at LIA. Our first event is Halloween. The teachers are busy planning exciting events for the students to do. All of the teachers are having a great time choosing costumes to wear. We hope that all students will wear a costume, too. In America, most students wear a costume to school on Halloween Day, so we hope that LIA can continue the tradition. Each class will celebrate with the others during the last block of their schedule. They will have all of their regularly scheduled classes before it, but the time will be shortened. To start the party, each student will have to spell a Spelling Bee word from their Halloween Spelling Bee list. If they can’t spell the word, they’ll be given another chance. If they can’t spell any words, they won’t be able to do our fun activities. I hope they prepare well! Each class will celebrate with the others during the last block of their schedule. They will have all of their regularly scheduled classes before it, but the time will be shortened. To start the party, each student will have to spell a Spelling Bee word from their October Spelling Bee list. If they can’t spell the word, they’ll be given another chance. If they can’t spell any words, they won’t be able to do our fun activities. I hope they prepare well! Each class will celebrate with the others during the last block of their schedule. To start the party, each student will have to spell a Spelling Bee word from their October Spelling Bee list. If they can’t spell the word, they’ll be given another chance. If they can’t spell any words, they won’t be able to do our fun activities. I hope they prepare well! Each student will participate in two activities, one game, and one dance. It is sure to be a fun time for all! A tradition that all American students experience is going trick-or-treating. Children go around their neighborhood in costume, ringing doorbells. When the door is answered, the children yell, “Trick or treat!” The homeowner has to choose to receive a trick or give a treat. Most people choose ‘treat,’ and give the child candy. In this way, a child can earn a whole bagful of candy in a single night. Unfortunately, the students will not be able to experience that in Korea. So, we are asking parents to kindly donate candy so LIA can have a mini trick-or-treat right here in Daechi. Please let us know if you have questions. As this is the first of our three holiday events, we really hope the children come excited and ready to have fun. The parties will be on October 30th and 31st. If your child is in a 2:20-3:45 class, they will celebrate on Tuesday and have their regularly scheduled class on Wednesday. Happy Halloween, Grace, Meredith, Ashley, Cheryl, Rebecca, Jessie, Daniel, Zach, Mark, Kay, and Anne Teacher
