5. Engineering a Better World
October 22nd from 10:10am-12:10pm!
20 minute workshop for 5 groups to give middle school girls an idea of how engineering can help us create a "better" world (healthier, safer, more sustainable)
SWE needs some volunteers to help with our rotation, look for a sign up sheet in the Weekly SW

7. Bio/Diversity Internship
The Bio/Diversity Project is designed to promote the entry and success of underrepresented groups in the environmental science fields, by providing both outdoor educational opportunities for K-12 youth and targeted training and mentorship opportunities for university level students. 
Students who are interested in applying should complete the online application HERE, and send their resumes

8. UROC
The application for UROC – the University of Arizona’s premiere undergraduate research program for all majors is now open!   If you have the aptitude and drive to enjoy research and apply to graduate school please consider applying.  A couple things to keep in mind:
UROC is not just a summer program! Our UROC-PREP & STAR program is open to all majors and offers year-round research & grad school application services
UROC seeks academically talented students who are:
 juniors or seniors, with a 3.00 GPA or above, from groups underrepresented in higher education
we are not a good fit for students interested in professional programs such as law, medicine, business
