Mailing charges is cost overhead.
Deliveries of reports are often delayed that leads to patient dissatisfaction.
Lack of reliable delivery of reports: report results are dictated via phone which are often error prone.
Manual entry at sender and receiver side is time consuming.
Customers will not ready to attend the lab due to not entertainment of urgent reports, which need outer lab communication.

What CITILab Requires
The messages exchanged among different branches/collection points should deliver information of patients, test orders, test results and patient bills.
The messages exchanged should be automated by eliminating human manual entry to the system.
The information should be reliably communicated.
The information should be confidential, even if interrupted by intruder during transmission, it should not be interpreted.
The system should also be able to exchange messages with other authorized laboratories information systems.
