Objectives The objectives of this case study activity are to:
help students learn about each other’s roles and responsibilities. help students work together collaboratively utilizing the information they learned about each other’s roles and devise a care plan for Mr. C.J.

Case Study Mr. C.J. is 45 year old male who is a farmer and had a farm machine accident that caused injuries to his face including avulsion of his front teeth, injuries to his oral cavity and large wound in his R) arm. Due to facial injuries affecting his oral cavity and his breathing, the pt was placed in ICU and was intubated. The pt’s wound culture was found to have Multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter (MDRA). The objective of this section is to help students learn about each other’s roles and responsibilities. In this section you need to: think about your specific job and then identify five key roles/job responsibilities, write them down on the post it sheet. once all team members wrote their roles and responsibilities. The next thing is to identify if there is any overlapping roles between your profession and other professions. Write these overlapping roles on the post it sheet and select one of the team member to present the team findings to the whole class once done.

The objective of this section is to help students work together collaboratively utilizing the information they learned about each other’s roles and devise a care plan for Mr. C.J. addressing the following aspects: ways of preventing the spread of infection. teaching plan for staff, pt, family, and the public on MDRA infection. search for the most effective treatment for the pt’s condition and communicate this information together. ways of addressing the pt’s oxygenation, nutritional needs, dental needs, wound care, and prevention of complications. since the pt is a self-employed and doesn’t have health care insurance, try to find ways of addressing health care coverage and payment for his services.
