Size and Location Newfound is one of one the 10 provinces and 3 territory’s of Canada. It is an island. It can only be reached by boat or plane. Newfoundland is in the Atlantic ocean. Labrador is N.W. of Newfoundland.

Land and Water The Canadian Shield runs through Labrador.
Most land is rock and forest. The land is high above sea level.

Land Looks A fiord is a inlet of a steep cliff. Lots of flat land.

The Earliest People First people were a native tribe
called the Beotheck . Last Beotheck died in 1829. Newfoundland joined Confederation.

The trans- Canada highway connects St. Johns and Gander. Labrador is on the mainland; not attached to the island of Newfoundland.
