1. Interfaith Works Women’s Center at 2 Taft Court, Rockville (formerly Wilkins Avenue Women’s Assessment Center) Fact Sheet NOTE: The Center is located on the lower level of the 2 Taft Court building, around the back near the animal hospital.
This program provides emergency shelter, meals, case management and vocational services to 70 women, preventing homelessness and providing stability. More than 2,000 volunteers engage with the Women’s Center, primarily by donating meals.
The innovative 2 Taft Court facilities will offer enhanced integration of services in an accessible, safe setting, with care coordinated across providers. Sharing a location with CCI Health & Wellness Services and Cornerstone Montgomery will provide IW Women’s Center residents with easy access to medical, dental and behavioral services in the same building, removing transportation barriers and enhancing the likelihood that residents will get timely, essential care.
IMPACT: Last year, the Women’s Center program served more than 250 women; 45 percent of residents moved on to better housing.
