The human brain is amazing. Babies are born with the capacity for learning. The frequency and type of interactions babies experience with adults shape the development of their brains. (Emphasize each point on the Brain Story flyer.)

8. Tip Card Examples
Here are five examples of tip cards. These are examples of the tips on the Vroom app. (Go over the information on each tip card and emphasize the importance of the Brainy Background.) Using the tips with children will support their brain development. Each interaction will help the neurons in the brain to make more connections as shown in the last box.

Click on the links to show examples of the tips and tools. When you click on the Vroom Activities Tip Cards you can show videos of parents using the tips with their children. Each video is about 1.5 minutes in length.

10. Activity Time Try out some of the tip card activities.
Then see if you can write your own tip card.
You can use this activity in smaller groups by giving out some tips cards to each group and have the participants try out the tips. Give out blank index cards and encourage each person to write a tip for a child that is the age of their child or the age group they teach. In a large group, have participants talk to the person beside them about how they could use the tips and what kinds of activities would make good tips to share with others.
