How will RCEP worsen the exploitation of the peasantry?
Increase land grabbing RCEP will allow the entry of more foreign investments and greater foreign ownership of our lands.

At present, around 500,000 hectares of agricultural land in Mindanao are being covered with plantation crops primarily for the export market Banana Since 1920 Mindanao has been host to vast plantation of raw material and export crops 4 4

The MRT-7 project would bulldoze more than 300 hectares of disputed agricultural land and will displace 1,000 farmers and their families in San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan province. 9/6/17

The Clark Green City project (under President Benigno Aquino III) that covers 36,000 hectares of productive and abundant agricultural lands will displace some 20,000 Aetas and farmers in five towns in Central Luzon. 9/6/17

On November 2016, President Duterte announced that
80,000 Hectares of land in the country will be used for the expansion of oil palm plantations of businesses from Malaysia and it could go as much as 300,000 hectares for an exchange of a $63 million investments. 8 8

How will RCEP worsen the exploitation of the peasantry?
Strengthen seed monopoly RCEP will only further erode genetic diversity, strengthen corporate domination of the seed industry, intensify privatization of our genetic treasures and criminalize the farmers�rights on saving, exchanging and improving seeds.

Intensifying militarization
How will RCEP worsen the exploitation of the peasantry? Intensifying militarization RCEP allow the use of necessary force – military, paramilitary – to protect the interests of corporations especially in areas where there is strong community resistance.

But instead of addressing the rights of the workers and the community, the company and the government connived to protect their interest thru militarization 11 11

We do not need RCEP. We need a genuine agrarian reform that will break up land monopoly.
