Physical / Tactile Texture
We perceive it by touching an object. Everything has a different texture Texture can be: Rough Bumpy Slick Scratchy Smooth Silky Soft Prickly Physical texture can be Natural or Artificial

Natural textures They belong to natural elements, like the skin of an elephant, the bark of a tree or the surface of a rose petal.

Artificial textures The surface of objects made by us, such as steel, paper, fabric, leather

Visual texture Is the illusion of physical texture in a photograph or a piece of art. It is 2D The textures you see in a photograph or a piece of art are visual textures. No matter how rough objects look in a photograph, the surface of the photograph are still smooth and flat. We can create visual textures using different art procedures: crayon rubbing, scrapping, stenciling, stamping, painting with different materials (tempera, wax crayons...)
