2 A new Community Engagement Committee was convened in November 2011 to address the transition of both Lee High School and New Century Technology High School into the new campus on Meridian Street.

Membership School representatives Community representatives One PTSA representative from each school Two parents from each school Two teachers from each school One student from each school One alumnus from each school Redstone Arsenal Chamber of Commerce Neighborhood associations representative Northeast Civic Association Huntsville Association of Realtors Huntsville Planning Commission

4 Meetings Understanding the Process
Three meetings of the Community Engagement Committee were held. The tone of all of the meetings was very positive – everyone was committed to make a decision for the best interests of the students. The student members of this Committee were very engaged in the discussions. Both schools are proud of their traditions, their accomplishments, and their uniqueness.

6 Three Options Considered
Two schools become one Merger Two separate school operate under one roof Co-Location Two schools operate under one roof but share core classes where practical Hybrid

7 Recommendation The Community Engagement Committee recommends to Dr. Wardynski that Lee High School and New Century Technology High School be allowed to operate as separate schools sharing the new Meridian Street campus.
