The British Isles were carved up into many Kingdoms, some of which had been in existence before and during the Roman occupation.
From 800 Vikings invaders from Denmark and Sweden invaded – and many of them stayed.

Archaeological finds are a major source of evidence for the Dark ages.
Look for some information on the Sutton Hoo burial, explain what information this may provide for historians about the early dark ages.
