2 debt Credit card debt is a common issue that challenges American consumers: $764 billion total U.S. credit card debt  191.8 million credit cardholders in the U.S. (or 77 percent of adults) $4,061 average credit card debt per cardholder in the U.S. $6,662 average credit card debt per U.S. household 13.61% APR average credit card rate on accounts that assess interest

Embarrassment guilt 2 kings 4:1 The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”

4 Why discuss the topic? Proverbs 3:9 Honor the Lord with your wealth     and with the firstfruits of all your produce; Proverbs 22:1 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,     and favor is better than silver or gold.

7 Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,     while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. Work hard Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard does not plow in the autumn;     he will seek at harvest and have nothing. Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty;     open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread. Adam had to work in the Garden. Genesis 2:19 Women can work, too. 8 Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,     while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. Work hard 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. 1 Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Genesis 41:36 That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine.” Proverbs 22:3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.

12 Prepare a budget and be intentional with our money.
Proverbs 21:20 Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling,     but a foolish man devours it. How do we save? Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance,     but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. Proverbs 27:23 Know well the condition of your flocks,     and give attention to your herds, Prepare a budget and be intentional with our money.

14 Proverbs 22:7 The rich rules over the poor,     and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
Some causes of debt: lack of planning, poor budgeting (Prov. 21:5) lack of self-control (James 4:1-5, Luke 8:14) Overspending (1 timothy 6:6-8)

We SHOULD avoid debt. If we’re in the hole, we need to stop digging. we must be willing to change our habits and be willing to sacrifice. we must be patient and trust that God’s way works. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,     and do not lean on your own understanding.

16 Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;     fools despise wisdom and instruction. God will provide for our needs, Matthew 6:33-34 Enjoying the fruit of our labor is a blessing from God, Ecclesiastes 3:12 We will not go broke doing what god desires us to do with the blessings he gives us, 2 Corinthians 9:6-10
