Sense of Place… “develops through familiarity with the history and symbolism of particular elements of the physical environment-a local mountain or lake, the birthplace of someone notable, the location of some particularly well-known event, or the expression of community identity through community art. Sometimes it is constructed through monuments and statues. Sometimes it is the natural outcome of people’s familiarity with one another and their surroundings.
