Proposed WF (1) RAN4 is to define a rule for categorization (of band combinations including channel assignments), based on presence of resulting IMD2,3 (including harmonics as long as the cause includes simultaneous Tx) falling in Rx with the given channel assignment [RP ] RAN4 should complete their tasks by December 2017 to allow the feature to be introduced to the specifications [RP ]

Proposed WF (2) If IMD2 (or 3) is falling in Rx channel assignment of PCell/PSCell , simultaneous UL is optional, otherwise it shall be mandatory according to RAN guidance Whether simultaneous UL is optional is decided based on exact range of IMDs. Exact range of IMD 2 (or 3) is calculated by the following equations and it should be captured in RAN4 specification. Interference bandwidth: IBW = |a| x CBW1 + |b| x CBW2 |a| + |b| = 2 (or 3) CBW1 and CBW2 are channel assignment of UL signals configured by the NW Center freq. of IBW: fIBW = a x f1 + b x f2 f1 and f2 are center frequency of each UL signal The range of IMD 2 (or 3): [fIBW – IBW/2, fIBW + IBW/2] Case 1 Case 2a Case 2b f Rx channel IMD2 f Rx channel IMD2 f Rx channel IMD2 Mandatory Optional Optional until December but further enhancement can be considered after December

Proposed WF (3) For case 2a/2b, UE capability is introduced to indicate UE does not support simultaneous UL. In addition, UE capability to indicate that UE supports simultaneous UL with various (maximally 4 kind of ) MSD requirements is also introduced for case 2a/2b Above UE capabilities are per band combination basis Example of MSD requirements for the latter capability is shown in below table.
