To introduce the students to the advanced theories in economics. Co-sponsor of Krishnaraj Memorial Endowment Lecture Curriculum Related Plans Research Dissertation (8 credits) and internship (8 credits) will be the integral part of Master Degree curriculum To equip students with analytical tools of economics to understand the current economic reality with perspective of problem solving. Co-sponsor of Dr. Neera Desai Memorial Lecture Providing career Guidance Alumni Association and Placement Cell Eligibility To introduce the tools of empirical analysis. Career Prospects To offer a wide range of courses enabling the students in their pursuit of specialization – e.g. Economics of Labour, Social Infrastructure, Industry, Gender, Public and International Economics etc. M.A. Teaching (school, college and university), research, journalism, NGOs, banks, financial institutions, central and state governments etc. A student is required to have a background in economics at the undergraduate level. The eligibility criteria for students who do not have a background in Economics at the undergraduate level may be decided by the Economics Departments. Future Plans To organize various curricular and co -curricular academic programmes. Collaboration with other national / international educational institutions. Highlights Prerequisites Research projects in collaboration with Association with government departments . UGC, ICSSR, Planning Commission, NCERT, BMC, Ministry of WCD, UNFPA, UNDP, UN HABITAT, AIILSG, MMRDA, MAVIM, A student is required to obtain 80 credits for MA degree - 36 credits in core modules and 44 credits in optional modules. Extension programmes with NGOs. GOM, GOI etc. Centre for Advance Studies in Economics Students are required to take two core and two optional modules every semester. Head Office of Economics Students-Teachers Association and Resource Centre is at the department which manages to get sponsorship and organizes various activities like – Student's Seminars, Quiz, Elocution, Essay Competitions etc.  Association with other Academic Bodies Indian Economic Association Ph.D. Indian Academy of Social Sciences Post graduation in Economics with at least 55% and 50% marks for open and reserved category students respectively. Marathi Arthashastra Parishad Indian Association of Women Studies Organization of State / National level Seminars, Panel Discussion, Guest Lectures etc. Indian Society of Labour Economics Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) is compulsory.
