1. A Peek At Our Week October 26th – 30th Reading Math Social Studies
This week we will continue working with nonfiction text. We have been focusing on finding the main idea of various nonfiction texts using strategies like “box and bullets.” We will continue working on finding the main idea as well as writing summaries in our own words.
Math
This week we will finish up chapter 3 and review our skills we have learned so far! Our unit 3 assessment will be this week. Please remember to study your multiplication facts for 5-10 minutes every night!
Social Studies
This week we will be starting our first Social Studies unit on regions. Our main focus is the East. Students will be required to memorize the states, capitals, and their location on the map!.
Writing
We have begun our writing unit on narratives! We are developing ideas good writers can use to write a narrative. For example, we are imagining books that we wish existed that relate to our personal lives! In language we will finish working with adjectives and move onto verbs.
