3
Introduction As a beginning of any research, a researcher must identify the topic of the research, the question and the significance of the research. After that any researcher can start with the topic by finding the problem and looking for solution.
4
Distinguishing between Practical problem and the research problem
How can we distinguish between the practical and the research problems? One of the important facts that most researchers don’t pay attention to is to answer The research question that is not interested to the researcher but to the readers. This question is created by the readers{ the audience} not by the researcher.
5
Practical and research problem
How can a researcher to discover the research question with out knowing what is the practical problem. A researcher can’t ignore the practical problem So First the practical problem must be found, then the research problem, after that you can solve both.
6
The relationship between practical and the research problem
PRACTICAL PROBLEM motivates Research question defines Research problem Leads to Research answer help to solve
7
Academic Research problem
When does the academic problem appears? When there is some thing significant and simply it is not understandable. We can solve this conceptual problem by answering some questions in order to understand it better
8
According to existence research is divided into two types:
Purer Research is when the solution of a problem does not bear in any practical situation in real world. But only improves the understanding of a community of researchers. Applied research is when the solution has a practical consequences.
9
Pure Research might be uneasy for inexperienced researchers because of the conceptual problem, as a result of being in a community that does not care deeply of understanding it’s part of the world. They cobble a particle cost onto a conceptual question to make it more significant.
10
To connect your research problem to a practical consequence - In the introduction, state your problem and formulate it as purely conceptual problem. - In the conclusion, suggest it’s practical application.
11
Make your problem their problem
The Nature of Practical Problem Practical problem is a condition that imposes in the world and a tangible cost that you don’t want to pay 1-condition Parts: 2- the cost of condition which makes you unhappy Don’t forget that it’s not only you who decide the importance of the problem by the cost you pay Make your problem their problem
12
State makes you unhappy
The Nature of Conceptual Problem Practical condition Conceptual condition State makes you unhappy some side of not knowing or not understanding something Example I’m studying nonverbal communication because I want to know, what is the different between men and women when they communicate with people?
13
Example Practical cost Conceptual cost Q1 Q2 is more important
The cost of practical problem is a level of unhappiness. The conceptual cost is the second thing that you don’t understand because you don’t understand the first one, and the second one is more important. Example Q1 Q2 is more important I’m studying nonverbal communication because I want to know, what is the different between men and women when they communicate with people In order to help the reader to understand the bigger and more important question of how do that affect in social and work?
