Literature Review Rauscher FH, Shaw GL, Ky KN. Music and spatial task performance. Nature 1993; 365: 611 – Mozart effect studied, shows increases in short-term spatial reasoning skills after listening to Mozart for ten minutes, but only proven to enhance brain plasticity for the short-term Bilhartz, T., Bruhn, R. The Effect of Early Music Training on Child Cognitive Development. -- testing scores increased for those students involved in 30 week, 75 minute weekly program that taught music curriculum…. The power of music: Its impact on the intellectual, social and personal development of children and young people. -- studies showed that music involvement is more beneficial than no music involvement at all at young ages, but the biggest improvement comes from enjoying the musical activity rather than just doing it
