STEP 1 y = x^3 + 3x y = (2)^3 + 3(2) y = 2 - You are given:
- To find y, you need plug in x to your original equation y = (2)^3 + 3(2) y = 2

STEP 2 - Derive y = 3x^2 + 3

STEP 3 - Plug in your x to your derived equation y = 3(2)^2 + 3 = 9 SLOPE!

STEP 4 y –y1 = m(x + x1) y –2 = 9(x + 2)
-Plug it in to Point Intercept Form y –y1 = m(x + x1) y –2 = 9(x + 2)
