1.1 Inductive Reasoning Inductive reasoning or induction is the process of reasoning to a general conclusion through observations of specific cases. Used to arrive at a conjecture A conjecture is a belief based on specific observations that has not been proven or disproven. A counterexample is used to show a conjecture is false.

Deductive Reasoning is used to prove a conjecture.

Estimation is the process of arriving at an approximate answer to a question.
