*NAHU’s Anti-trust Statement: Associations are subject to strict scrutiny under antitrust laws because an association is, by its nature, a group of competitors joined together for a common business purpose. The antitrust laws require companies to make certain decisions by themselves, not in conjunction with competitors. Therefore, associations and their members must proceed with extreme caution in certain areas of activity to insure against violation of the antitrust laws. Discussions of current or future prices or commissions and refusing to deal with or boycotting any insurance carrier are among a number of areas specifically prohibited by the anti-trust laws and will not be permitted in today’s meeting.

SAMPLE VERBIAGE for Members Only for Clients:
Dear First Name\Last Name, As you may know, some politicians would like to drive health insurance brokers out of business and replace them with distant government bureaucrats. These critics claim that removing agents from the plan-choosing process would trim the administrative costs of insurance without significantly impacting ordinary consumers. They're wrong! Agents and brokers have gone above and beyond to cater to their client’s needs. We work to obtain insurance for clients who are struggling to balance their desire to purchase high-quality and comprehensive health coverage with the reality of rapidly escalating medical care costs. Our priority is to walk you through the purchasing process, claims issues, follow-up service questions and compliance matters throughout the life of your policy. As an active participant in the Brokers Making a Difference (BMD) Campaign organized by the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), I am asking you to submit a personal testimonial on our BMD submission webpage telling how I, as your broker/agent, have been a resource to you in your healthcare insurance process. Every story conveyed helps to enhance the movement that brokers DO make a difference. Your submissions are greatly appreciated!
