1 Mid-Atlantic ADA Leadership Network Webinar

2 What is going on in the ADA-LN?
Since January 2016 3 new groups trained – State College, Columbia, and Pittsburgh 55 trainings reported over 791 people trained PA-OVR Business Service Division

3 5 Year Grant Cycle

4 Emphasis The Mid-Atlantic ADA Center will place an emphasis on:
Training Technical assistance (TA) Research Dissemination of information

5 Research The University of Maryland and TransCen staff will conduct research The research will examine barriers to compliance with the ADA The research will be divided into 2 sections: Youth and Aging and Title II The findings of the research will be used for training purposes

6 Youth and Aging Community
TransCen is specifically connecting with youth and the aging community It will be carrying-out youth "train the trainer" programs Another emphasis will be on accommodations in the workplace for the aging community

7 Working Relationships
Vocational Rehabilitation Centers for Independent Living (CILs) Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs)

8 Trainings Trainings will be customized based on information gained through TA calls and relationships with clients Trainings will address the needs and desires of the audience Webinars each year: 10 ninety minute webinars 10 thirty minute brown bag webinars Network webinars-2 per Network Other audience specific

9 Corrections and Law Enforcement
TransCen will communicate and work with corrections and law enforcement personnel Provide in-depth trainings Host 2 brownbag webinars on related topics

10 Fact Sheets Develop a myriad of fact sheets on such topics as Aging and the ADA, Customer Service The fact sheets will be available to the public

12 Lunch and Learn Offer information in a targeted manner on a specific subject within the lunch time framework 12

Expect some chatter before starting Do be prepared to go with the flow, but be respectful of peoples time commitment

Innovation Development of innovation projects Establishment of blended online learning communities to address issues of common concern transition, state and local government, promoting employment of people with disabilities

24 ADA-LN Going Forward For new people - conduct 2 trainings and report those trainings within a year of your training For veteran members - continue to conduct and report training (2 per year minimum) Continue to be an active member of the ADA-LN by participating in teleconferences, webinars, and keeping in touch
