Writing Huge emphasis—Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing in April (or not!) 3 modes—narrative, expository, and descriptive Home and class assignments Redos Count as major grade in Language Arts

Wordly Wise 6th grade level Test each week and a half
Spelling and definitions Tests vary—synonyms, antonyms, classification, sentences for words and activities also good source of activities and practice test Flash cards encouraged, not required
