4. Requirements for an OGSA-based discovery architecture
GSI-based authentication
Role based authorization
e.g.
a site manager is allowed to see everything
a user is allowed to access only its jobs and services status
a VO monitoring service is allowed to access its resource domain
Configurable data aggregation entity
Not just caching (e.g. view of monitoring data, view on a certain VO resources)

5. ‘Smart’ discovery service
I’d like to ask:
What’s the best batch computing service I can access at the moment that can provide a certain computational power?
And tomorrow at 5 P.M.?
We need for:
Modeling quality of grid services
Inexact matchmaking
need for semantics (ontology)
More flexible monitoring&discovery service
better query model
easier schema management (in MDS, each schema change need to be installed in every GRIS/GIIS)

OGSI-Compliant MDS Index Service (aka GIIS), supporting aggregation of information from MDS-2 GIISs and CIM providers. (Implemented in Java.)
