Battle of Bunker Hill (1775)
British attempt to take hills north of Boston Continental Army push back two British Advances Forced to retreat after running out of ammo British lose 1000, Colonists 450 Proves they can stand up to Britain

Olive Branch Petition (1775)
Petition sent to King George III stating the colonies were still loyal to him and call of hostilities until things could be resolved Offer refused

Common Sense (1776) Written by Thomas Paine, labeled King George III a tyrant, and time to declare independence Greatly changed public opinion on blaming king Pushed continental congress to vote for independence
