Student Accessibility Services
Student accessibility Services (SAS) role is to help faculty and the University be in compliance with the ADAAA of 2008 and Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. SAS wants to ensure full and comprehensive access to the Universities services, programs and resources so students with disabilities are able to obtain information fully, equally in a comparable manner to that of an individual who does not have a disability. What does SAS do at FAU? What is our purpose? Work closely with faculty and staff to make sure that we are accessible for our students

Step by step tutorials for faculty and students
Online Portal Link Student link Online portal has two links: One for faculty and one for our students Tutorials are available to both faculty and students to guide them We also have staff available via phone to walk them through how to use the portal (10-4pm Monday through Friday) Faculty Link Step by step tutorials for faculty and students

Online Portal: Students
Request and send Accommodation letters ( s the Academic Accommodation Agreement letter directly to the students professors) Exam booking - student can request exams online s the request to Testing Coordinator, professor and student Students can review their calendar for future SAS training & appointments and scheduled exams Greater accessibility, available 24/7 anywhere in the world with internet Students can send their accommodation letters securely via the portal to their professors or then can download the letter to provide a hardcopy if needed (science labs require hardcopy) Booking exams not restricted to submitting during office hours as they use to Saving costs – no more semester request for services, students schedules or Testing Accommodation Forms. (TAFs) Students can view their scheduled for appointments and exams at SAS on the portal

Online Portal – Faculty & Staff
View and acknowledge a students AAA letter (Academic Accommodation Agreement) Review, acknowledge, set up requirements for exam and upload the exam securely via the portal Portal is available 24/7 anywhere in the world Faculty no longer have to print , sign and scan the letter or sign electronically via Adobe Reader/Pro The letters are stored in the portal so faculty can view anytime during the semester, don’t have to save hard copy in a file Exams can be acknowledged and information regarding how long the exam is in class, any materials that can be used during exam, scantron or computer software needed can be indicated straight into the portal. Faculty no longer have to make a special trip to SAS or exams they can be uploaded directly into our secure portal. All exams are delivered back to professor by scanning and ing directly – safes time and money

Register for Services – (May 2017) Notetaking - (Summer 2017) Alt format Textbook requests (May 2017) students will be able to schedule appointments with their SAS Accessibility consultants, AT Training, Testing & Notetaking Orientations online application and submission of documentation both students that need notetaker and the volunteers that share

Accessible Format Materials Portal
The Accessible Format Materials Portal is a free service provided to all FAU students, faculty and staff. This service is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and is implemented by Student Accessibility Services within the Division of Student Affairs. This is part of FAU’s ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of accessibility to all members of the FAU community to promote innovation, inclusion and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
