[ Pastor / CONGREGATION ]
THE CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 84 [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ]

Minister: How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts
Minister: How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! People: My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and soul sing for joy to the living God.

Minister: For one day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

People: Blessed are those who dwell in Your house, ever singing Your praise!

Confession of Faith: Philippians 2:5-11

All: Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, Who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,

so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Congregational Prayer of Confession ALL: Almighty God, we confess how hard it is to be Your people. You have called us to be the church, to continue the mission of Jesus Christ to our lonely and confused world.

Yet we acknowledge we are more apathetic than active, isolated than involved, callous than compassionate, obstinate than obedient, legalistic than loving. Gracious Lord, have mercy upon us and forgive our sins.

Remove the obstacles preventing us from being Your representatives to a broken world. Awaken our hearts to the promised gift of Your indwelling Spirit. This we pray in Jesus’ powerful name. Amen

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION

Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel (Psalm 43:5 ) Minister: Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God. This is the good news! People: Thanks Be to our great God!

This Is The Day Hymn # 209

This is the day, This is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made,

We will rejoice, We will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it,

This is the day that the Lord has made, We will rejoice and be glad in it, This is the day, This is the day that the Lord has made,

The Proclamation of Scripture

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Minister: The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of the Lord is forever. People: Thanks be to our great God

Trust and Obey Hymn # 571

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will He abides with us still And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies, But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt nor a fear, Not a sigh nor a tear, Can abide while we trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, But our toil he doth richly repay; Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown nor a cross, But is blest if we trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love Until all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows and the joy He bestows Are for them who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet, Or we’ll walk by His side in the way; What He says we will do, Where He sends we will go— Never fear, only trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.
