2.9% decline over Q3, and 4.6% decline over the prior year. Losses incurred across the board, including Free Newspapers. Magazine Comments: 4.3% decline over Q3, and a decline of 3% over the prior year. Subscriptions predictably more than press, although free magazines represents the largest percentage

3. PRESS DASHBOARD % Composition Daily Newspapers Weekly Newspapers
2.7% decline over Q3, and 12.6% decline over the prior year. Declines occurred in all categories, with the composition remaining roughly similar. % Composition Weekly Newspapers 6.4% decline over Q3 as well as the prior year. Although the decline was in Single Copy Sales, this category still represents 93% of circulation.

Weekend Newspapers: 2.8% decline over Q3, and 11.6% over the prior year. Declines occurred in all categories of circulation. Free Newspapers 2.6% decline over Q3 and 11.6% over the prior year. All categories declined, except Residential Individual, which increased slightly. Local Newspapers 2.8% decline over Q3, and 7.1% over the prior year. 96% of circulation derived from Single Copy Sales. % Composition

Percentage values need to be done manually COMMENTS: Unfortunately, all the movers reflect declines. Sowetan declined by 6.45 over Q3 and 8.5% over the prior year Business Day declined by 6.5% over Q3 and 12.9% over the prior year The Herald declined by 11.7% over Q3 and 9.4% over the prior year

WEEKLY PRESS: MOVERS COMMENTS:
Percentage values need to be done manually COMMENTS: Soccer Laduma decreased by 9.7% over Q3 and 7.9% over the prior year. Mail and Guardian increased by 11.3% over Q3, but declined by 3.5% over the prior year.

WEEKEND PRESS: MOVERS COMMENTS:
Percentage values need to be done manually COMMENTS: Sunday Tribune decreased by 5.7% over Q3 and 6.7% over the prior year. Ilanga Langesonto declined by 6% over Q3 and 9.3% over the prior year. Weekend Argus decreased by 4% over Q3 and 3.7% over the prior year. Isolezwe ngoMgqibelo declined by 8.3% over Q3 and 10.2% over the prior year. Sunday World decreased by 9.9% over Q3 and 25.3% over the prior year. On a positive note, Saturday Dispatch increased by 4.7% over Q3.

Percentage values need to be done manually COMMENTS: Rustenburg Herald decreased by 11.6% over Q3 and 14.1% over the prior year. Die Daller declined by 12.5% over Q3 and 13.6% over the prior year. Tembisan decreased by 17% over Q3 and 40.7% over the prior year. Streeknuus declined by 30.3% over Q3 and 31.4 over the prior year. However, Mid South Coast mail increased by 5%, and Paarl Post by 4.4% over the prior year.

FREE PRESS: MOVERS COMMENTS:
Percentage values need to be done manually COMMENTS: PE Express increased by 13.2% over Q3 and 20.2% over the prior year, as a result of rebranding PE Express Indaba. Dumelang News increased by 7.6% over Q3 and 1.2% over the prior year The Weekly Free State decreased by 9.2% over Q3 and the prior year Maritzburg Echo decreased by 14% over Q3 but increased by 45% over the prior year

4. MAGAZINE DASHBOARD COMMENTS:
Total Magazines declined by 4.3% over Q3, and 3% over the prior year. Consumer Magazines decreased by 2.5% over Q3, and 12.5% over the prior year. B2B Magazines increased by 1.7% over Q3, and 1.3% over the prior year. Custom Magazines declined by 5.2% over Q3, but increased by 2.6% over the prior year. Free Magazines decreased by 20% over Q3, and by 3.2% over the prior year.

MAGAZINE: % COMPOSITION
COMMENTS Consumer Magazines: Single Copy Sales showed a slight increase, whilst Sales below 50% and Free copies declined. Custom Magazines: Subscriptions increased , whilst Single Copy Sales and Free circulation declined. Business to Business: The composition continues to rely on Free distribution, which was the only category to increase.

Percentage values need to be done manually COMMENTS All the titles reflected above, with the exception of Land Rover AFRICA are either B2B or Custom free titles. Land rover AFRICA increased by 62% over Q2 and 59% over the prior year, mainly in Individual Subscriptions and Single Copy Sales. Worthy of mention are the following monthly titles which showed creditable increases over the prior quarter: True Love +29.6%, The Big Issue +16.7%, SA Rugby +14.9%, Car +10.3%, Popular Mechanics +10%, Leisure Wheels +9.8%.

COMMENTS Category decreased by 1% over Q3 and 15.8% over the prior year, mainly the result of discontinued titles. Single Copy Sales increased from 72% to 74%. Real Estate decreased by 11% over Q3 and 32.5% over the prior year (Free distribution). Sarie Kos declined by 16.5% over Q2 and 26.6% over the prior year (Single Copy sales). House & Leisure decreased by 11% over Q3 and 31.3% over the prior year (mainly free distribution).

CONSUMER MAGAZINES - MOTORING
COMMENTS Category declined by 10.5% over Q3 and 22.6% over the prior year. Single Copy Sales declined whilst Free distribution increased. Auto Trader Exclusive, a new title, declined by 40.8% over Q3, all in Single Copy Sales SA 4x4 decreased by 17.4% over Q3 and 16.1% over the prior year, all in Free distribution. Bike SA declined by 16.4% over Q3 and 21.4% over the prior year, all in Single Copy Sales.

CONSUMER MAGAZINES – SPORT & HOBBY
COMMENTS Category increased by 6.7% over Q3 and 2.5% over the prior year, mainly the result of new members. Single Copy Sales decreased, whilst Free distribution increased. Rock Surf and Deep declined by 18.4% over Q2 and 7.4% over the prior year, all in Single Copy Sales. Game & Hint/Wild & Jag decreased by 21.8% over Q3 and 7.8% over the prior year, all in Single Copy Sales. Bicycling declined by 21.8% over Q2 and 19% over the prior year, all in Single Copy Sales.

COMMENTS Category declined by 6.3% over Q3 and 5.7 % over the prior year, mainly the result of a discontinued title. Single Copy Sales as a percentage increased. Both titles indicated above are annual titles and declined by 14% and 20% respectively.

CONSUMER MAGAZINES – Women’s General
COMMENTS Category increased by 1% over Q3, but decreased by 17.9% over the prior year, mainly the result of discontinued titles. Single Copy Sales as a percentage increased from 65% to 80%. Woman and Home increased by 9% over Q3 , but decreased by 8.8% over the prior year (increased Single Copy Sales, reduced Free dist). Essentials declined by 13,2% over Q3 and 12% over the prior year (Free distribution). Essays of Africa decreased by 23.2%over Q3 and 37.2% over the prior year (Back issues).

BUSINESS TO BUSINESS MAGAZINES – ARCHITECTURE
COMMENTS Category increased by 1.8% over Q3, but decreased by 7.3% over the prior year, the result of one resignation and one discontinued title. Timber IQ declined by 14% over Q2 and 22.7% over the prior year. SA Roofing decreased by 8.4% over Q2 and 15.1% over the prior year.

BUSINESS TO BUSINESS MAGAZINES - MANAGEMENT
COMMENTS Category increased by 4.3% over Q3 and 5.8% over the prior year. FA News increased by 31.6% over Q2 , but declined by 13.2 over the prior year (free distribution). Cape Business News increased by 38.5% over Q3 and 165% over the prior year (free distribution).

CUSTOM MAGAZINES - ENTERTAINMENT
COMMENTS Category increased by 2.7% over Q3, but decreased by 4.5% over the prior year. The category is mainly impacted by the movement in the two titles indicated above.

CUSTOM MAGAZINES – LEISURE
COMMENTS The Category has changed considerably as a result of Fresh Living changing to a Free model, which represents 56% of the category. Slow magazine declined by 36.3% over Q3 and 2.3% over the prior year (PDF Replica). Road to Tokyo (annual) declined by 14.6%. (Indiv. Non requested). Good Taste increased by 13% over Q2. ( Below 50% and Bulk req.)

CUSTOM MAGAZINES - RETAIL
COMMENTS Category declined by 10.2% over Q3 and 11.8% over the prior year, mainly the result of a discontinued title. Edgars Club magazine decreased by 5.9% over Q3, but increased by 2.7% over the prior year. TFG Man increased by 5.8% over Q3 and 2.7% over the prior year. TFG Motor increased by 27.4% over Q3 and 259% over the prior year, all in Individual Subscriptions, a fantastic performance.
