- This slide show is meant to educate you on the rules you must follow when we do lab activities
- Failure to obey any of these rules will result in a zero for the lab you are working on, and suspension from the lab until further notice

Follow all instructions given by the teacher
Notify the teacher immediately regarding any accident or unsafe areas

Always wear safety goggles
If you wear contact lenses let your teacher know

In case of emergency in which a chemical goes into one’s eye, use the eyewash station

8. Protect Yourself Proper Attire
Keep all long hair tied back
Do not wear loose clothing that could catch on fire
Roll your sleeves up

9. Protect Yourself Hand Safety
If a chemical spills on your skin, notify the teacher and rinse with water
Wash hands after every lab

10. Physical Safety Handle all equipment carefully
Keep walking isles clear, NO
sitting during labs

11. Heating Safety Never look into a container as you are heating it
Never point the end of a test tube being heated at yourself or others
Never heat in a closed container

12. Chemical Safety Read all labels
Never touch, taste, or smell a chemical directly
Never mix chemicals unless instructed to do so

13. You Should Never… Eat or drink in the lab

14. You Should Never… Fool Around in the Lab… I take this very seriously
