Eyewash Stations
Instructions for use
Eyewash station maintenance
Turn on eye wash and keep flushing eyes for 15 minutes or instructed otherwise
As per DEHS protocols, the eyewash stations needs to be flushed at least for 3
minutes every week, and 15 minutes every month, to ensure continuous water flow and inhibit growth of bacteria.
Hold the eyelids open while the water flows over the eyeballs
Things to check:
Roll your eyes all around so the water touches all of the surfaces and gets under the lids
Area around the eyewash station is clear of obstruction, debris or tripping hazards
Wash both eyes even if you think you only contaminated one
Eyewash station operates correctly
activating arm operates smoothly and remains open when released
water flows continuously, with each nozzle expelling water in roughly equal amounts and equal height
water is clear and colorless
Remove contact lenses during the flushing
